Planning and transition support. Not legal, medical, or financial advice. IEP guidance is informational, not legal representation.

Single mothers move more than almost any other demographic — and they move without the plan, the support, or the safety net it actually takes to land somewhere that sticks.

IEP transfers, healthcare navigation, community vetting, housing instability — the complexity lands on one person. Generic relocation advice was never built for this.

When a move is done in alignment — with a real plan, real support, and the right sequencing — relocation becomes the beginning of a healing, safe, and thriving chapter.

What she's carrying

The fears, barriers, and real-life complexity standing between her and a regulated landing.

She is not stuck because she is incapable. She is stuck because the weight is real, the complexity is exponential, and no one built the right support for what she is navigating.

  • "I don't know where to even start."

The list is endless and nothing feels like the right first step. She researches for hours and still feels behind. The overwhelm is not weakness — it's the absence of a sequenced plan built for her reality.

  • "What if I move somewhere unsafe again?"

She has moved toward help before and been let down. She has signed leases in places that looked fine on paper. The fear of repeating that pattern is real — and community vetting is the answer she has never had.

  • "My children's IEPs won't transfer cleanly."

She knows how badly this can go. Services lost for months. Fights with new districts. Children regressing while paperwork gets processed. She needs IEP transfer prep before she moves — not a crisis after.

  • "What if I just end up moving again?"

She has moved before and it didn't stick. The pattern of relocating without landing is not a personal failure — it is what happens when the logistics get handled and the everything else doesn't. That is what we change.

  • "I'm doing this completely alone."

No partner to split the research. No one to hold the children's anxiety while she figures out the housing gap. Every decision lands on her. She is not doing it wrong — she is doing the work of two people without the support of one.

  • "I don't know how to build community in a new place."

She can move the boxes. She can handle the logistics. But arriving somewhere alone — no network, no support system, no sense of belonging — is what makes a new address feel just as lonely as the one she left.

The Landing Shift

This is not just a move. It is a complete identity shift.

Most relocation support stops at logistics. Settle for More goes further — because the biggest barrier to a regulated landing is not the moving truck. It is the identity a woman has built around surviving instability.

The Landing Shift is our core framework. It guides every client through the full arc — from understanding why she keeps moving, to building the internal and external foundation that makes a landing actually stick. It is not therapy. It is strategic, grounded, and deeply practical.

  1. Understand the pattern

Why has she kept moving? What has she been running from — and running toward? Clarity on the pattern is the first step to breaking it.

  2. Build the real plan

Not a checklist. A sequenced, personalized strategy — community research, IEP prep, housing, healthcare, school transitions — built for her specific family.

  3. Execute with support

She is not alone in the execution. From intake to landing, someone is in her corner — not with generic advice, but with real-time guidance built for her situation.

  4. Settle into who she becomes

The woman who lands well is not the same woman who was running. She is rooted. She has community. She is no longer in survival mode. She has settled — for more.

Who this is for

For the mother who is ready to stop running and start rooting.

If you see yourself in any of these — you are in the right place.

  • Single mothers relocating with children

Managing schools, schedules, children's emotions, IEPs, and logistics entirely alone. You need more than a checklist — you need a real plan and someone in your corner.

  • Neurodivergent mothers with special needs children

You are managing your own neurodivergence while navigating IEPs, specialist transfers, and service coordination for your children in a new place. This was built for exactly this complexity.

  • Women who have moved multiple times and never landed

You've unpacked the boxes. You've done the logistics. But something never clicked. You're ready for a move that is planned for belonging — not just survival.

  • Mothers facing urgent or sudden relocations

A safety situation. A lease ending. A job change. You have to move and you don't have time to figure it all out alone. You need fast, clear direction — right now.

  • Mothers stuck post-move and not settling

You've moved but it's not clicking. You're thinking about running again. Before you pack another box — let's build a strategy for making where you are actually work.

  • Action takers ready for a regulated landing

You don't need motivation. You need a plan, a system, and someone who can match your energy and help you move with intention — not reaction. This is built for you.

The Landing Shift Starter Kit — $47

The clarity that changes everything
about how you move next.

You have googled everything. You have made lists. You have talked to people who meant well but did not understand your complexity. And you still feel like you are starting from zero every time you try to figure out your next move.

This workbook does not start with logistics. It starts with you. Because until you understand why you keep moving, what you actually need from a home, and who you are becoming when survival mode is no longer running the show — the next move will land the same way as the last one.

“By the time you finish this workbook you will know why you keep moving, what you actually need, and who you are becoming when you finally stop running.”

This is for you if…

  • You keep moving and never quite landing — and you are ready to understand why before you pack another box
  • You are planning a move and you want to do it differently this time — with real clarity instead of urgency
  • You are a single mother navigating this alone — neurodivergent, children with IEPs, or both — and you need a guide built for your actual complexity
  • You are ready to start the identity shift — from the woman who survives the transition to the woman who builds from it
  • You cannot invest in a session right now — but you need something real to hold onto at 2am when the overwhelm hits

From the founder

I moved over 20 times. I know exactly what it costs to move without a plan — and what changes when you finally have one.

I am a neurodivergent single mother of three children with special needs. I have relocated from Philadelphia, up and down the East Coast, and across the country to Arizona. I have moved out of abuse, away from slumlords embedded in every lease I signed, and out of survival situations where I literally picked a spot on a map and moved my small children there.

I have navigated IEPs across multiple states and counties. I have coordinated doctors, specialists, and care teams from scratch in cities where I knew no one. I have lived in the middle of nowhere. I have moved toward support that didn't pan out. I have moved toward community, toward better schools, toward safety — and moved again when those things didn't hold.

For years I heard my inner child speaking through my children. Every time we pulled up somewhere new, one of them would look up and ask: "Mommy, are we home yet?" That question lives in me. It is the reason Settle for More exists.

I eventually learned that relocation — when done in alignment, with a real plan and real support — can be the beginning of a healing, safe, and thriving journey. Not just another address. A real landing. I want that for every single mother who is done running and ready to finally feel safe enough to stay.

"She is not someone who can't settle down. She is someone who has never had the plan, the support, or the safety it actually takes to land. That is what I am here to change."

Pre-Move Planning

The 5 Things Single Mothers Miss When Planning a Move — And How to Stop the Cycle

Most single mothers don't crash on a move because they didn't try hard enough. They crash because the advice they had was never built for their reality. Here are the five gaps that turn a move into another restart — and what to do differently.

Researching logistics but not community. Moving without an IEP transfer plan. Timeline decisions driven by urgency not strategy. No post-move plan. Doing it entirely alone. These are the five gaps. Every single one is solvable — when you have the right support before you move.

IEP Transfers

How to Transfer Your Child's IEP When You Relocate: What Every Single Mother Needs to Know

Moving with a child who has an IEP is one of the most complex parts of any relocation — and one of the most under-supported. Here is what you need to know before you move, on enrollment day, and in the weeks after to protect your child's services.

Request complete records before you leave. Ask the new district about their transfer timeline in writing. Know your child's services in detail so you can advocate for continuity from day one. Do not wait until after you arrive to start this process.

Post-Move Stability

Already Moved and It's Not Working? Make It Work Before You Run Again

You moved. Maybe it was survival. Maybe it was hope. Now you're here and something isn't clicking. Before you start researching your next move — ask yourself: is this place actually wrong for my family, or does it just need a strategy?

Sometimes the most powerful move is learning to stabilize before you run. Community resources you don't know exist yet. Schools that can actually support your child. One anchor that makes the location livable. That is what the Make It Work session finds.

Questions

Questions she asks before she books.

What exactly does Settle for More Relocation do?
Settle for More provides relocation planning, post-move strategy, IEP transfer guidance, community research, and settling-in support for single mothers. This is not a moving company and not therapy — it is hands-on, personalized planning support that covers the full arc of your move, from before you pack to after you arrive, with your children's specific needs at the center.
Do I have to have a child with an IEP to work with you?
No. IEP support is part of what we offer — not a requirement. We work with single mothers navigating all kinds of relocations, with and without special education needs. What matters is that you are a single mother who wants real support and a real plan for your move.
How do I know which offer is right for where I am?
Start with the Starter Kit if you need to get clear on your own timeline and can't talk yet. Book a Clarity Session if you haven't moved yet and need a real plan. Book Make It Work if you've already moved and it's not clicking. Reach out if you're not sure — we'll help you figure out the right fit before you book anything.
What happens after I book a session?
You receive a confirmation email immediately with your private intake form and scheduling link. Complete the intake so we can prepare for your specific situation. We meet for your session — video or phone — and your written plan arrives in your inbox within 24 hours.
Is this only for mothers or can other women use it?
Settle for More is designed with single mothers at the center — but any woman navigating a complex, high-stakes relocation who resonates with this work is welcome here. If it speaks to your situation, it was built for you.
Is payment secure?
Yes. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your card information is never stored. Everything is encrypted and handled entirely by Stripe's secure infrastructure.
Is my information kept private?
Completely. Everything you share is handled with strict discretion. Many clients are navigating sensitive personal situations — safety, abuse, instability. Privacy is not a feature here. It is the foundation of how this works.
